David Buckner, President
David Buckner is the President of Solar Energy Systems, LLC. As a founding member of the company, he has been with SES since its inception in 1998 and is responsible for business development, corporate strategy and establishing collaborative efforts with cross-industry channel partners. David is certified by the North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners (NABCEP) and sits on the NYC Solar City Advisory Board, an initiative coordinated by the New York City Economic Development Corporation, Mayor Bloomberg’s Office of Long-Term Planning and Sustainability, and the City University of New York’s Center for Sustainability. Prior to starting SES, Mr. Buckner spent seven years at Wall Street brokerage firm Tullet Prebon, specializing in U.S. Treasuries. He received his Bachelor of Science in Finance from Fordham University.
Christopher Moustakis, Vice-President and COO
Christopher Moustakis is the Vice-President and COO of Solar Energy Systems, LLC, and has been with the company since 2001. His responsibilities include estimating, contracts, sub-contractors, investors, banking, accounting, insurance, compliance and legal matters. Prior to joining SES, Mr. Moustakis spent five years at international brokerage house Tullet Prebon, overseeing all middle-office operations and staff. He was responsible for processing and clearing all trading activity, with over $10 billion in average daily volume. Mr. Moustakis holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Baruch College.
John Salmon, Director of Business Development
John Salmon is the Director of Business Development at Solar Energy Systems, LLC. Mr. Salmon holds the distinguished NABCEP PV Technical Sales Certification which was developed in accordance with the certification field’s best practices, and is based on a comprehensive Job Task Analysis established by a wide range of leading solar industry professionals. John joined SES in 2005 after working as a PJM Electricity broker for Man Financial LTD on the New York Mercantile Exchange. He helped launch the commercial division of SES, and has played an integral role in the development of large-scale solar electric facilities in New York City. John is currently working on the development of multiple solar projects through NYSERDA’s latest funding opportunity; PON 2156. Mr. Salmon holds a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from Fordham University where he served as captain of the Division 1 tennis team.
